If I need to nudge within the region, or fade, or blade, or delete, or cut, copy, trim from either end or both, add a sync point, snap the clip somewhere, change from slip or grid etc all of that has a specific command which can be used irregardless of what tool you're using to click the clip. When I use the smart tool I also use shortcuts at the same time. If I set a track to elastic audio and use TCE I tend to turn off the multi tool and use the shortcuts, for example. ![]() ![]() I don't click and drag everything, I don't fade with my mouse for example. I use the smart tool to interact with the clip, either through the option to grab or select by moving my mouse to a specific point.
